Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Kitchen Manager, and indirect supervision of the Employment Services Manager relate to the Summer Youth, performs duties related to the Lakewood Park concession stand daily operation. Position requires an individual to have customer service skills, positive attitude, and food preparation, delivering work readiness skill training to trainees with developmental disabilities, responsible for accurate accounting and all transactions and assist with location inventory controls. Prior food service, customer service, experience in the field of developmental disabilities and staff management.
This is a temporary position that runs from June 6, 2025, until September 1, 2025. The schedules will be Monday through Friday from 12pm until 8pm.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with the Employment services team regarding the Summer Youth Work Experience service and trainees to ensure quality of services provided.
- Responsible for ensuring that clients are properly trained, and their training needs are met.
- Ensure the appropriate accommodation is made and monitor and evaluate the progress of the summer youth at the concession stand.
- Work with summer youth to help them to start to develop skills needed on the path to finding competitive employment in the community.
- Document services provided to the Summer Youth Work Experience trainees.
- Assess and report on the summer youth’s ability to perform the assigned tasks.
- Ability to provide direction to staff and model professional positive work ethic for Summer Youth Work Experience trainees.
- Maintain a clean, safe and sanitary facility and always ensure the safety and wellbeing of the customers, staff and summer youth.
- Immediately document or collect statements and report ALL incidents or accidents to supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with applicable licensure regulations.
- Assist with and or complete daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, inventory control and other assigned duties.
- Exhibit acceptable work standards and immediately correct actions that do not meet Agency standards.
- Responsible for ensuring all billing is accurate and submitted weekly.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures at all times, ensure money is deposited to the identified bank as directed.
- Create and maintain a weekly staffing schedule, fill open shifts as needed.
- Ensure staff follow the payroll process.
- Provide great customer service.
- Interact with customers and clients in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Come to work on time, in the proper attire prepared to work.
- Adjust work hours as required for effective operation of the concession.
- Follow Help Foundation rules and regulations.
- All other related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a HS diploma or GED
- Has a sincere desire to work alongside of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- This position requires stooping and lifting, substantial standing and walking.
- Basic working knowledge of food and beverage.
- Basic food preparation.
- Basic level of computer proficiency as well as good basic reading and writing skills
- Must speak and understand English.
- Excellent communication, money handling skills and record keeping skills
- Ability to accept and provide direction and instruction in a professional manner
- Positive attitude and neat appearance.
- Successfully pass a background check that includes a BCI and FBI criminal history check
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with less than 6-points
