The Woodland Home is a four-bedroom ranch, recently renovated to provide an accessible home for elderly adults who formerly lived at HELP Six Chimneys.
The HELP
Foundation, in cooperation with the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation
and Developmental Disabilities, developed this facility to meet the aging
and medical needs of HELP's older clients. Several of the clients were
some of the original referrals from state institutions, some 25 years ago.
Now retired and receiving community services from various senior centers,
they represent the HELP Foundation commitment to clients who have few if
any living relatives who could offer ongoing care. The agency's knowledge
of their needs, as well as having an ongoing relationship, has enabled them
to continue to live in the community and maintain ties with caring staff.
