Six Chimneys Apartments
Located in Cleveland's Mid-Town Neighborhood, HELP Six Chimneys is a HUD subsidized housing facility which serves as a stepping stone from institutions, nursing homes and group homes to an individual’s own apartment in the community. This 46–unit apartment building was opened in 1983 and has successfully assisted hundreds of individuals in their quest to live independently in the community.
Six Chimneys 30th Anniversary!
In the Autumn of 1983 HELP Six Chimneys opened its doors as the new home for 46 adults who had developmental disabilities. Many of these new residents were coming from the state institutional system into their very first independent apartment. This was a revolutionary model of residential care and the journey to opening day was full of challenges that were overcome through the tenacity, creativity, and collaboration of HELP leadership and our partners at every level of government and regional philanthropy. To this day Six Chimneys is a dynamic and vibrant community of individuals discovering their own strengths and abilities as they gain the confidence to live their lives on their own terms!
