Help Housing for the Disabled
In 1992, HELP began to address the needs of individuals who
had achieved the goals of semi–independent living but needed additional
training before progressing to fully independent status (living in the community
with staff assistance.) HELP Housing for the Disabled was created. Residents of
the 24 apartments clustered on three sites on theEast and West
sides of Cleveland. Garden-style single apartments with paved sidewalks connecting each
apartment with the on–site management office offer accessibility for the
residents. Staff assist tenants with apartment maintenance, financial management,
cooking, shopping and other daily living tasks.
